HCC was founded by Steve Gordon, former Executive Vice President of Creative Affairs at Viacom Productions, a leading prime-time television program supplier. Under his aegis, over a thousand hours of programming were produced including the series, “Ed” for NBC, “The Chris Isaak Show” for Showtime, and “The 4400” for USA which was the most-watched series premiere on basic cable. “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, which Gordon supervised for the ABC and the WB Networks, became the most successful series in the company’s history. Gordon also oversaw several successful syndicated series and more than 200 movies for television.
Throughout his career, a question that was consistently posed to Gordon by amateur writers, directors and actors was, “How can I get an assessment of my creative work?” There are many people with creative aspirations and a desire to measure their talent against those already working in the film and television industry. Hollywood Creative Connection was created just for that purpose; everyone should have access to quality feedback on their talent.
Gordon has always had a special interest in film and television education. He taught Television Program Development at U.C.L.A. Department of Extension Film and Television Program and, has been involved with the Educational programs and Services Committee of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for over 16 years. As a 10 year participant in the Academy Intern Program, Mr. Gordon has mentored several young students who have gone on to achieve successful Hollywood careers.
